THROUGH THE EYES OF A SAVIOUR
Stand! They scream,
Fallen to my knees, Stand! I scream.
Aching shrills of piercing bullets wrench the air,
As blood pools in the once blue stream,
Fight! They scream,
Standing with my knees shaking, Fight I scream,
How can we deny the strength of the soldier,
The one who barely trembles with the nation on his shoulder,
The one who sees his people as the most valuable treasure,
And one whose courage is beyond simple measure,
Run! They scream,
Fighting with all I have, Run I scream,
Not away from the field but into the thick of it,
Facing the enemy, for the nation I am a shield,
In my hands it is their trust that I wield,
Immense struggle and sacrifice are made by those who dare,
The risks taken by these saviours, we cannot share,
For they believe, that within their land, must dwell,
Families that sleep in peace inside a protected shell.
How can tyranny possibly prevail
When it is the nation, the
soldier avails.
Look! They scream,
Running with stinging pain, look! I scream,
The expanse of our glorious land unfolds before us,
The people within, gleam with their proud smiles,
It was then that I knew, my mission had been fulfilled,
For my people, I spend my life,
For my nation, I end their strife.
